Condom Applicator Generation
II
2007
|
|
|
|
HIV infections have
become a global concern, especially in Sub Sahara Africa. The
condom applicator helps alleviate this pandemic by improving a
universally accepted product, instead of introducing a new
system into an already controversial environment. The idea of a
condom applicator has been in the public domain for decades;
however this second generation design provides a user friendly
design which guarantees the easy and correct application of a
condom onto a penis. Project research indicated that the
incorrect application of a condom can lead to the potential
spread of STD’s, or rupturing the condom with fingernails. The
development path started in 2001 with the first generation model
(outlined below). |

The Snuza Baby Monitor aims to
prevent cot
death, also known as SIDS (Sudden infant death syndrome) whereby
an infant stops breathing.
The unit itself

Optiscope
1998
|
|
|
|
The Optiscope is a surgical device (laryngoscope) which is used
during intubation as firstly an illuminated inspection device,
and secondly as a leverage tool to lift a patient's head. The
design has provided numerous innovations over existing products,
most notably the transparent optic blade, which transmits light
from a protected bulb in the handle to the tip of the blade via
an ergonomically placed button |

I-aware
1996 |
|
|
|
Infant Eye testing carried out in rural settings requires
flexible, durable and innovative design. The I-aware achieves
this by reducing the component count from ten to two parts,
which allow each eye to be tested with one of three lenses
whilst the other is being shielded. |
